The former head of the Goldsmiths and Gold Merchants Division, Atif Ahmed, has revealed an increasing activity in exports movement, but complained about the bureaucratic and unfair procedures.
In his a statement to Sudan Events, he called for facilitating the procedures for exporting gold through a single window, to provide the state with a quick return.
He criticized the officials’ lack of understanding of the basics of expediting and facilitating the export procedures, pointing out that there were complaints about delays extending to over a week for obtaining the export certificate, and concluding that this impedes quick collection of return.
He renewed call for the adopting a single window for export procedures, noting that one of the reasons for the delay in export procedures is the multiplicity of parties involved in the export certificate.
