Director Hatem Mohamed: Documents Suffering of Sudanese People
Report – Sudan Events- Magda Hassan
I work to document the suffering of Sudanese women during the war
Director Hatem Mohamed Ali, a member of the National Acting Troupe, has a great achievement attested to on the stage of the National Theater and foreign theatres.
Despite the shock he suffered as a result of the war, like others, it increased his production at all levels.
Hatem left as a refugee to Cairo and achieved this harvest in a short period.
Get over the shock
I am in Cairo with my young family after an arduous trip. Currently, I have begun to move in different directions.
The first days are difficult, just like anyone else. I have overcome the state of shock and the new place, but I have completed several projects that I was lazy about.
I am documenting my experience in interactive theater and its relationship to development. I am collecting information and putting it in a book.
New book
In the new year 2024 of Theater and Development Experiments, entitled (From Theater and Development Experiments, Interactive Theater in Sudan), in which all private work and similar experiences were monitored.
Documenting women’s suffering in war
I am also thinking about producing a theatrical performance that is sensitive to our current situation regarding women’s issues and the suffering that Sudanese women are exposed to as a result of the war.
There is a dialogue in this direction between me and a number of writers and authors, including Nasr al-Din and Nasr al-Din Abdullah, and I am writing and consulting.
Viewing soon
Regular in Cairo with the Sudanese Artists Gathering in various activities and striving for a show soon.
Partnerships and forums
I also completed special courses in professional editing on programs that were new to me, and I was able to complete them within two and a half months.
I also won the Swan Hut Scholarship, organized through the Goethe Center Cairo, with a group of more than thirty visual artists, photographers, writers, and cultural administrators.
The program was accomplished, in which we got to know a group of artists present in Cairo, opened many paths for us, created partnerships and networks, and presented a number of forums.
The program was very useful.
To remove and mitigate the shocks and create a state of protection for the group participating in Sudan Hut. Thank Allah things began to become clear and we began to find our footing.
New business
We will strive to present Sudanese dramatic theatrical or television arts
I am also interested in documentaries, and I will be producing two new works that will be released soon.
