JEM Denies Receiving Weapons

The Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) has denied reports that the movement was receiving military equipment confiscated by the Sudanese-Chadian Joint Force.
A statement issued on Thursday by the movement and signed by Hassan Ibrahim Fadl, Deputy Secretary of Information, said these were false news and extension of the systematic targeting and lies that have been used by parties hostile to the movement.
The movement renewed its firm position on protecting civilians and their property, and any party undermining the people’s welfare will be confronted “by the movement and all the honorable sons of the country and the forces of armed struggle with all strength and boldness.”
The movement indicated that it does not need others to provide it with weapons and equipment, as it has it and knows how to manage this matter.
The movement expressed “regret for the shameful positions by some who were once among the ranks of the struggle and today are lined up with those who rob citizens of their money and homes and bury innocents alive.”
The movement concluded by stating that it is accustomed to such campaigns and those who hide behind the covers of their disappointments know this well and are not as bold and courageous as to face the movement where and when.
The “African in Lights” platform reported yesterday, Wednesday, that the joint Chadian-Sudanese forces on the Chadian border had seized military equipment that was on its way to Rapid Support Forces in Sudan and had been handed the seized supply over to the Justice and Equality Movement.
