The Ministry of Foreign Affairs – State of Qatar announced that a meeting was convened on Tuesday between Ambassador Nayef bin Abdullah Al-Siddiqi Al-Emadi, Director of the Department of Arab Affairs with U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Mike Hammer who is currently on visit to the state of Qatar.
The Ministry added that during the meeting developments in the political and humanitarian situation in Sudan and Somalia were reviewed.
The U.S. Special Envoy who is participating in the Doha Forum on Sudan, indicated in his intervention during the session that the continuation of battles and the fighting over power between the two sides, would lead to the fragmentation of the country, which is something that everyone rejects it, but, he said, this is was what the data indicate, anticipating a scenario for the Sudanese that might be worse than the current Libyan developments.
