Challenges facing Mining companies in Northern State, Addressed

The Director of the office of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company (SMRC) in the northern state, Abdul Rahman Mahjoub Al-Nadhif, revealed that the State Mining Coordination Council for the current year discussed a number of important issues, including the social responsibility file and Decision (90) issued by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, which controls the state and local shares, social responsibility, and business profits from Companies, in addition to discussing the problem of the accumulation of large mining violations in the markets and finding appropriate solutions and legislation for it in the year (2024), and the reasons for stopping some mining companies and solving their problems so that they contribute to the total production of the state and the national economy, as well as issuing a state decree to further tighten oversight and control of the mining process and reduce the process of fees collection evasion within the mining markets and product smuggling.
He said after presenting the office’s performance report for the year (2023) and the features of Fiscal (2024) plan that the overall outcome of the meeting shall be there to be safe and stable mining with development in revenues and control mechanisms and their tightening during the next year to serve the citizens of the northern state in all areas.
