Discussions on Reconstruction Projects in Eastern Sudan

The Governors of the Red Sea and Kassala states stressed the need to advance projects related to Eastern Sudan Reconstruction and Development Fund (ESRDF) and solve the obstacles that hinder their completion. The meeting that brought them together today discussed common issues, particularly security issues and the importance of coordination between the two states regarding them.
The Governor of Kassala said after their meeting today that his visit to the Red Sea State came for the purpose of contemplating the various concerns and issues of the state, in addition to the roles played by the state in protecting the eastern gate, particularly in light of the current security conditions and issues related to those arriving to the state in terms of shelter and providing services to them.
The two Governors emphasized the importance and necessity of continuing joint coordination between the two states, strengthening aspects of securing the eastern region, and confronting all negative phenomena that affect the stability of the security situation between the two states in particular and the region in general.
