Nouakchott Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2023 kicks off closed ceremony
At the conclusion of the celebration of Nouakchott as the Capital of Culture of the Islamic World 2023, Ahmed Sayed Ahmed Ag, Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and Relations with Parliament in Mauritania, thanked ICESCO for its commendable efforts, starting with choosing Nouakchott as the Capital of Culture, and keeping up with the celebration activities throughout the year.
Closing ceremony of the celebration of Nouakchott as the Capital of Culture of the Islamic World 2023:
Fatima Abdel Malek, President of the Nouakchott region, stressed that choosing the city as the capital of culture in the Islamic world represented an opportunity to introduce the Mauritanian cultural heritage and the intellectual richness of the country, and embodied the position that Mauritania enjoys in terms of its position as a crossroads of cultures
Dr. Salim AlMalik, ICESCO DG, stressed that the celebration was a complete season of prudence, beauty, diversity, and richness in activities and programs, its slogan being authenticity, literature, poetry, sports, and developing the capabilities of youth and women.
