Importers Declare Bankruptcy

A huge number of Sudanese investors have declared bankruptcy while other businessmen have opted to flee the country, the Secretary general of the Sudanese Importers ‘Chamber, Hashim Fadul announced on Monday
The Secretary General of the Chamber has also complained of the rise in the taxes imposed on imported commodities for home consumption which stands at 40% of the price of the commodity
He said this is added to other fees that range between 10 to 20 percent besides the added value tax which stands at 17 percent, not to mention the rise in the rate of exchange of the Sudanese pound against other hard currencies.
The secretary general has also pointed out that the maritime transport has also skyrocketed.
