Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, captain of Manchester City, ended the year 2023 with a new and exceptional award that crowns what he achieved with his team.
This year, De Bruyne was able to achieve a historic treble with City, namely the English Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League.
De Bruyne played a decisive role in City winning this historic treble, thanks to the many goals he created for his teammates, especially Norwegian Erling Haaland.
Today, Sunday, De Bruyne won the Best Playmaker Award in 2023, presented by the International Federation of History and Statistics.
After 2020 and 2021, Kevin De Bruyne was voted again by the International Federation of History and Statistics as the best playmaker in the world for the year 2023.
De Bruyne won this award, after obtaining 181 points, leaving Argentine Lionel Messi, the American captain of Inter Miami, in second place with 100 points.
Portuguese Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne’s teammate at Manchester City, ranked third with 78 points, followed by Englishman Jude Bellingham, who came fourth with 70 points.
Norwegian Martin Odegaard, captain of Arsenal, ranked fifth in this ranking with 18 points.
