Report
On Sunday, the fighting fronts in Sudan witnessed a decline in the intensity of military operations, without the occurrence of ground clashes, and the intense mutual artillery bombardment that had occurred over the past days stopped.
Sudanese cities and the capital, Khartoum, bid farewell to the 261st day of war in a year full of fighting, displacement, death, looting, and destruction that occurred to centers, private and public facilities, and citizens’ homes since the outbreak of war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces last April, leaving about 7 million displaced and more than 12000 dead, according to the United Nations.
Meanwhile, local residents told Al Arabiya/Al-Hadath that villages and localities in the south of Gezira State are threatened by hunger, thirst, and disease due to the cessation of work on large and small agricultural projects, the lack of food supplies, the stopping of water pumps, and the withdrawal of all health centers from service, more than two weeks after the invasion of the Rapid Support Forces.
While the western parts of Sinnar State in southeastern Sudan are experiencing difficult conditions, as eyewitnesses reported to Al Arabiya/Al-Hadath that the expansion of the Rapid Support Forces in the western region of Sinnar State has paralyzed all activities, with the continued looting and plundering of citizens’ homes and agricultural machinery, and that the thefts even affected animals inside agricultural projects in the region.
In the Darfur region, residential neighborhoods in the city of Nyala, South Darfur, are witnessing the return of residents to their homes after they were displaced by the war, and despite the fear and panic that residents are experiencing as a result of the aerial bombardment in the region.
Some markets in the city have rebounded with a severe shortage of medical supplies for a number of large centers and hospitals that are trying to provide health services as required
