Mombasa is hosting the Mombasa international festivals as a way of showcasing the coastal cultural heritage and market the county as the best tourist destination.from December 25 to December 31, 2023.
The opening event supervised by the Governor of the Mombasa Region, Saeed Nasser, and Dr. Abu Rally Kane, the Minister of Education in the region, the Minister of Tourism, and the head of the Sudanese community in Mombasa.
The seven days of fun and entertainment characterized by live performance, food bazaar, children funfair, corporates/SMEs sales and exhibitions, cultural acts and graffiti artists among others.
The festival includes heritage performances, singing interludes, and a bazaar of Sudanese popular foods prepared by the community in Mombasa in cooperation with the embassy in the capital, Nairobi.
The festival includes musical acts, sports and cultural programs, and heritage performances as an embodiment of Sudanese cultural and heritage diversity presented by a group of Sudanese residing in Kenya.
While addressing the media on the level of preparedness for the event, Mombasa Deputy County Commissioner Ronald Mwiwawi said that all is set for the festivals and assured both local and international tourists of their safety.
