Sudanese in Cairo reject Addis Declaration

Sudan Events-Follow-ups

Eight Sudanese political fronts and forces have declared their rejection of the (Addis Ababa Declaration) signed between the Coordination of Civilian Democratic Forces (Taqaddum) and the Rapid Support Militia, saying they only recognize and want to see the implementation of the May 11 Jeddah Agreement signed between the army and the militia.
The forces that met in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, said in a statement today (Friday), that the Addis Declaration has clearly shown that the e (Taqaddum) group is in fact the political wing of the Rapid Support Militia, based on the statement and the road map that they announced.
They stressed that no negotiation will be tolerated before implementing the Jeddah Agreement, and said they consider it the correct gateway to reaching a ceasefire and opening humanitarian corridors.
They pointed out that the most important element in the Jeddah declaration was the exit of the dissolved militia from the homes of citizens and civilian establishment.
“Therefore, any political process must begin after ending the war in accordance with what was agreed upon” in Jeddah, they added.
The signatory forces indicated the need for this to be followed by an investigation into the crimes and violations committed by the militia, holding it accountable, and returning the money and cars the militias and its allies looted, back to their due legal owners.
The forces described the Addis Ababa declaration as an attempt to restore the Framework Agreement and create new partnerships stained with the blood of the Sudanese, turning a blind eye to all violations, and a naive attempt to restore the situation before April 15, 2023, after the coup and war failed to break the will of the Sudanese and pass the foreign agenda.
The signatory forces declared their absolute support for the people’s right to defend themselves and their property, and rejected the double agents’. They also affirmed the people’s right to form popular armed resistance.
Also, the forces declared their full support for the armed forces in performing their constitutional duty, and urged them to redouble efforts to defeat the militia, and not to enter into any negotiations of any kind and under any umbrella with the militia before implementing what was agreed upon in the Jeddah platform.
The statement was signed by the National Movement Forces, the Democratic Unionist Party – the Original, the National Consensus Forces, the Sudanese Revolutionary Front, the Coordination of Return to the Founding Platform, a Sudan that Accommodates all, the Federal Alliance for Social Justice and Civil Society.
