Egypt: Sudanese Products Witness Price Rise

Bread prices in Sudanese products stores in the Arab Republic of Egypt witnessed a noticeable increase at the beginning of the year 2024, as the price of (10) loaves of bread reached 20 Egyptian pounds instead of 15 pounds, and the “kisra” dish stabilized at (10) pounds. The impact of the war that has been going on since the fifteenth of April last year affected export of Sudanese products and in turn affected the prices of products in Cairo, as the price of a pound of tea (Ghazaltain) rose to 400 Egyptian pounds, in addition to the rise in coffee prices, as the price of a kilo exceeded (260) pounds. Similarly, a kilo of powdered milk rose to 250 pounds instead of 230 pounds, and the prices of popular meals witnessed an increase; an order of one meal costs more than 50 pounds. In the meantime, the prices of Sudanese meat increased, as a kilo of mutton reached 350 pounds.
