Khartoum State: New Health Projects

The Khartoum State government has begun expanding health facilities, increasing clinical capacity by inaugurating a number of health facilities and by rehabilitating existing hospitals and health centers.

Khartoum Governor Ahmed Othman said that health was at the top of his priorities in light of the war as one of the important emergencies that require speed and urgent action to meet citizens’ pressing requirement for health services.

The governor said that Karari locality has become one of the most densely populated areas, requiring expansion of service facilities.

During an inspection tour today, Sunday, for the final works at the Parents Hospital in Al-Thawra Al-Hara 21, he issued direcxtives to the New Projects Bidding Committee to urge contractors to strictly adhere to deadlines and implement the buildings according to the agreed upon specifications. He stressed the role of supervisors and consultants from the Ministry of Health to see to it that the implementation is in full compliance with the quality of the work being carried out.

It is worth noting that the new projects include the Parents Hospital in Al-Thawra Al-Hara 21, the rehabilitation of Al-Naw, Abouda and Al-Balak Hospitals, and the opening of the Journalists City Health Center in Al-Thawra Al-Hara 100 and its operation during this week.
