Death of German and International Football Legend Beckenbauer

The German newspaper Bild said that the news of the death of German football legend Franz Beckenbauer was officially announced today, Monday, at the age of 78.

The Beckenbauer family said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Franz Beckenbauer passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, surrounded by his family.

We ask that you be able to mourn in silence and refrain from asking any questions.”

Franz Beckenbauer, the legend of Bayern Munich and the German national team, has an exceptional career on the field, which made him one of the best players in the history of football.
