Improved Seeds EU States Arrived

The Minister of Trade and Supply, Al-Fatih Abdullah Yousif, announced today (Wednesday) the arrival of a ship loaded with 2,042 tons of potatoes improved seeds, which were imported from European countries.
He said this followed a stoppage of importing improved seeds in 2021, saying the imported quantity is targeting potato cultivation in the River Nile and Northern states as well as other regions.
Informed sources revealed that the imported seeds are now subject to examination at the agricultural and quarantine centers to check the imported quantities, complete the procedures, and allow them to enter the country’s cold stores.
He reassured that farmers of potato seeds would arrive and that other quantities would come follow.
The Minister confirmed the flow of exports and imports in a smooth and normal manner, without problems, pointing to the establishment of new controls for exports and imports, including export facilities.
