Qatari Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, commented on the criticism leveled by Argentine legend Lionel Messi regarding the treatment he received in the Princes’ Park.
Messi left Saint-Germain last summer, after two seasons spent with the Parisian team.
Al-Khelaifi said, in statements to the French network “RMC Sport”: “I have great respect for him, but if someone wants to talk badly about Paris Saint-Germain after his departure, that is not good.”
He added: “This is not respect. Messi is not a bad person, but I do not like it. I will say that the matter is not only for him, but for everyone. We talk when we are there, not when we leave. This is not our style.”
Messi believes that Paris Saint-Germain did not do enough to celebrate its achievement in winning the World Cup, as he said in a previous interview: “This was not what I expected, but I always said that things happen for a reason.”
