Abidjan – Sudan Events

The 34th edition of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations – which will be held in Ivory Coast today, Saturday, and will continue until February 11 – will begin with a match between the host country and Guinea Bissau.

Armed with its fans, its land, and a contingent of professionals in Europe, Ivory Coast seeks to achieve a comfortable victory over Guinea Bissau for the first group at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,000 spectators.

24 teams will participate in Cannes 2023 for the second time in a row after the previous edition, which was held in Cameroon in 2021.

The Elephants are seeking to achieve a major victory in the beginning, to avoid any complicated calculations in the group that also includes Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.

The teams were divided into 6 groups with 4 teams in each group, and at the end of the first round, the teams that ranked first and second from each group qualified, and the best 4 teams that ranked third would join them.

The rest of the Africa Cup of Nations matches will be played in a knockout system, starting from the eighth final.
