Sadness and frustration prevailed among the people of art and culture inside and outside Sudan as a result of the war in Sudan, at a time when the cultural movement is active to break the barrier of silence and psychological suffering experienced by creative people in Khartoum as a result of the on going war, through artistic and cultural associations and their communication with Sudanese creative people inside Sudan and everywhere with high coordination with institutions and organizations working to remove and mitigate the effects of war, this clearly demonstrated by the reopening of some centers that were parked outside the borders.
Cultural movement and various endeavors undertaken by a number of Sudanese creatives in Cairo, who were able to bring many of their colleagues out of frustration into action, are considered a positive incentive for the Sudanese arts and culture who came to Egypt, urging each other to resist the war with their artistic and cultural tools.
Despite the war, publishing houses in Sudan were keen to participate in the 2024 Cairo International Book Fair, scheduled to be held soon.
The artists participated in cultural festivals in Egypt, the Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, reflecting their creativity and the culture of their country
Culture and arts play a major role in combating war and calling for peace by spreading awareness and educating generations about the importance of peace, development and stability.
The artistic and cultural movement inside Sudan in the safe states contributed to the call to stop the war through cultural forums, arts, singing, and theater, calling for the necessity of community cohesion, combating hate speech, and calling for peace and love.
It did not prevent the war in Sudan
Tasbih Diab represents Sudan in the Miss World competition, as she seeks to speak about her country, Sudan, and educate the world about the challenges facing the Sudanese people. She sees in her opportunity, an opportunity to raise her country’s name internationally and to be the first Sudanese woman to participate in an international beauty pageant competition.
Every adversity and crisis has its negatives and positives, this war has produced positives, especially creative people who crossed the borders. It made their voice one, under the umbrella of gathering their diaspora and an official body to which they belong, one goal that brings them together, hoping that peace will spread throughout the beloved country Sudan.
