Khartoum State Bans the Use of Motorcycles

The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman Hamza, on Wednesday issued a decision permanently banning the riding of motorcycles within Khartoum State.
According to state media, the decision authorized commanders of military regions to grant permits for the use of motorcycles, as required by the interest of work, and permit holders were excluded from the decision.
The decision grants the authorities of the regular forces and the prosecution the right to implement and enforce the decision and arrest anyone who violates it, in addition to any penalty stipulated in any other law by confiscating the motorcycle subject of the violation.
The decision allowed the competent court to issue a ruling requiring imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding one million pounds, or both penalties
