The Ministry of Culture succeeded in having official sponsors for the 55th Cairo International Book Fair, under the slogan “We create knowledge… “We Preserve the Word,” from January 25 to February 6, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
Egyptologist Dr. Selim Hassan was chosen as the character of the exhibition, and the name of the writer Yaqoub Al-Sharouni was chosen as the character of the Children’s Book Fair.
More than 10 official sponsors have been attracted, and the names of these sponsors will be placed on the fair’s entry ticket, which costs only 5 pounds.
The current session is being held on an area of 80 thousand square meters, with a total area that includes (5) exhibition halls, and the number of participating Egyptian, Arab and foreign publishers and official bodies reaches 1,200 publishing houses, from 70 countries around the world, and the number of exhibitors reaches 5,250 exhibitors this year. .
Cairo International Book Fair comes in its current session in defiance of the difficulties facing the world, with the participation of 1,200 publishers, from the continents of the world, an increase of 153 publishers over the previous session, the number of participating countries reaches 70 countries of different nationalities, which enriches and confirms the idea of the exhibition’s slogan (We create knowledge.) ..we preserve the word).
The exhibition is also keen to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030, through the role of institutional and community partnerships. As the exhibition continues, for the second time in a row, to present several initiatives and projects with official institutions, such as: the “Dawy” initiative with the National Council for Women, which is the national initiative to empower girls, make their voices heard, and obtain basic skills and services,The continuation of the “Awareness” initiative with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the celebration of the issuance of 200 titles from the “Vision – A Vision for Youth” project with the Ministry of Endowments.
It also witnesses the participation of 94 Egyptian and Arab ministries and institutions, including, for example: the Ministry of Defense – the Ministry of Interior .
