EU Supports North Darfur IDPs

The Irish “GOAL” organization working in North Darfur state delivered financial aid to a number of (2015) families who were displaced from Kutum locality to El Fashir due to the war.
The aid included families residing in shelter centers and Elfashir neighborhoods, with support from the European Union and under the supervision of the state’s Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC).
The distribution of this aid came after a survey conducted by the organization during the last period in cooperation with HAC, according to which each family recieved (141,935) pounds.
By providing this aid, GOAL aimed to alleviate the living pressure on the displaced and cover the shortage of food and other basic humanitarian needs.
The GOAL Organization indicated that the distribution of this aid to displaced families from the Kutum locality will continue for two months, starting this January, while the disbursement to the displaced people of Tawila locality has reached its second month and is scheduled to continue for three months.
A number of families who received this aid expressed their appreciation to (GOAL) organization, the donors and the HAC, describing the aid as appreciated and will contribute to covering their immediate humanitarian needs.
