WFP Supports White Nile Farmers

The Acting Minister of Production and Economic Resources in the White Nile State, Wissal Sheikh Farah, has emphasized the importance of the support provided by the World Food Program (WFP) to farmers and the private sector’s contribution to the continuation of the agricultural process in the state, especially in the field of wheat cultivation through contractual partnerships with farmers. She said during her visit to traffic projects and Nile pumps that she was informed of the position of wheat, vegetables, and sunflower crops in the locality
She further said that Qali locality is one of the distinguished localities in the production of vegetables and promising alternative economic crops, and she indicated her ministry’s interest in increasing production and productivity through training courses to raise the capabilities of farmers and agricultural extension workers.
She Commended the good establishment of the wheat crop and the role played by Harvest Company, which invests in the field of sunflower production, in achieving economic and social development for the farmers of the Qali project and the areas adjacent to the project, indicating that the Ministry organized a number of training courses to enhance the productivity of the wheat crop for this season.
