Finance Ministry Allocates 15 Billion SDG to Rehabilitate Hospitals

The Federal Ministry of Health has revealed the rehabilitation of 40 hospitals in the states and the provision of emergency, intensive care and operations equipment during the year at a value of 15 billion pounds, with support from the Ministry of Finance and National Economy.
The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, pointed out that the project targets all the different states of Sudan within the reconstruction plan, which will contribute to the localization of treatment and diagnosis, in addition to the rehabilitation of a number of intensive care and emergency departments.
During his meeting in his office today in Port Sudan at the Quarantine Department with the Director of the Ministry’s Health Development and Projects Department (Medical Engineering), he directed to update the list of medical devices and equipment in coordination with the relevant authorities (medical supplies, the Medicines and Poisons Council, the Sudan Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), and to review and update the policies related to them. He pledged to work to implement the recommendations of the meeting and work to provide devices and equipment to the states, directing the preparation of a strategic plan for devices and equipment in hospitals, indicating the importance of communicating with health supporters from international organizations to bridge the gap in devices and equipment, in addition to establishing a mechanism for the work of medical engineers in the states and submitting regular reports.
