Red Sea State: Reconstruction of Industrial Sector

The Governor of the Red Sea State, Major General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, has announced the removal of obstacles facing industrialization, especially the problem of electricity and the multiple fees imposed on the sector. During his visit, he praised a number of industrial sectors operating in Port Sudan (the oil industry sectors, packaging, tires and the Giad Automotive Complex). He praised the work spirit of the one team that overcame all the difficulties and obstacles that recently occurred in the industrial sector and the shift to working in safe states.

The Minister of Industry, Mahasen Ali Yaqoub, affirmed her support for all efforts that have begun to overcome the obstacles facing the sector and revive and rebuild it again. She said that the ministry has developed a relief plan based on following up on the factories’ work in the safe states according to the relative advantages of the available resources, in addition to attracting industrial investment in all the safe states of Sudan with focus on agricultural industrialization.

She explained the Ministry’s efforts, in cooperation with the competent authorities, to operate the stopped factories in all states and return them to the production department, in addition to establishing offices for the industry in all safe states, besides the offices currently operating.
