Jordan Reaches the semi-finals of the Asian Cup

Jordan reached the semi-finals of the Asian Football Cup, held in its eighteenth edition in Qatar, for the first time in its history, by defeating Tajikistan 1-0, on Friday, at Mohammed bin Ali Stadium, in the presence of 35,530 spectators.
Tajikistan defender Vahdat Hanunov accidentally scored against his team, the only goal of the match in the 66th minute, after Jordan defender Abdullah Nassib’s header hit him and turned into the net.
Jordan’s best result was reaching the quarter-finals in the Chinese editions in 2004 and the Qatar editions in 2011.
Next Tuesday, Jordan will meet the winner of the Australia-South Korea national team match scheduled for later today.
The “Nashama” team succeeded in achieving victory in the first round over Malaysia 4-0, and tied with Korea 2-2, before losing to Bahrain in the third round 0-1. In the round of 16, he managed to win over Iraq 3-2.
