Sudanese Writers: Tayeb Saleh Works are Part the of Modern Literature

The Cultural Salon at the 55th Cairo International Book Fair organized a symposium on the Sudanese writer Tayeb Salih, on the sidelines of discussing Arabic narrative projects, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Al-Amin Mohamed from Sudan, and Dr. Mashaer Sharif Saeed , the meeting was moderated by Buthaina Kheidir Makki from Sudan.
Al-Amin Mohamed spoke about Tayeb Salih and his rural upbringing and how it influenced the formation of his personality , besides the way he dealt with local cultures, stressing that the village remained present in his life, humility and his good treatment, adding that Tayeb Salih painted nature through the novel Season of Migration to the North .
The struggling human being and his inner beings, and he painted a complex scene, his childhood memory excelled and was reflected in his precise description of things within his literary works.
While Sherif Hatita stressed that it is difficult to talk about a great writer ,we still reading and enjoying the titles of Tayeb Salih just as we enjoy reading the works of Naguib Mahfouz.
Pointing out that the entire Sudanese novel is a season of migration to the north, and the Sudanese novel so far has not gone beyond Problems of coexistence, so the talk of the migration season to the north is identical to today’s talk, and the results are also the same.
He added that Tayeb Salih’s works are part of the history of modern Arabic literature, The Season of Migration to the North moved from being an Egyptian novel to an Arab novel, there are experimental features specific to it, in addition to Tayeb Salih and his African identity, as he is considered an African writer, this was reflected in his writings
” There are two generations after Tayeb Salih, but talk about him continues and extends until now”, he concluded.
