Financial expert: War losses exceed $100 billion

The economic and financial expert, Dr. Ali Allah Abdul Razzaq Ali Allah estimated the losses caused by the war in Sudan at more than 100 billion dollars, “according to United Nations reports,” as more than 70% of the volume of economic activity stopped, and the gross domestic product fell to less than 20%.

The Sudanese pound lost more than 80% of its value, while the volume of exports declined to a monthly rate not exceeding 12 million dollars. In addition to the loss of $4.6 billion in development aid to Sudan from international financial institutions and others.

In his interview with Sudan Events, he pointed out that the Sudanese economy was exposed to successive major and violent shocks.

Abdul Razzaq pointing out that the prolongation of the war has affected all economic sectors, leading to a contraction of 18%, which is the largest percentage of decline that the Sudanese economy has witnessed.
