World Food Support Small Farmers in northern State

The security of the northern governor, Abdeen Awadallah, affirmed to the important of emergency wheat project for wheat production, implemented by the World Food Program and the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, and funded by the African Development Bank, which targets small farmers by providing seeds and fertilizers: urea and Dab.

Awadallah said that the project is considered one of the important projects that contributes to bridging the food gap and providing food security, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through.

He pointed out during his meeting with the World Food Program delegation in his office on Monday that the World Food Program contributed significantly to supporting the state’s efforts to make the current winter season a success and expand the cultivation of the wheat crop.

The Commissioner of the Humanitarian Aid Commission in the North State , Dr. Abdul Rahman Ali Khairi, explained that the World Food Program targeted about 46 thousand acres in the current winter season in the Northern State.
Emphasizing the program’s role in providing food and supporting agricultural work in the northern state.

Awadallah pointed out that the visits of the UNICEF and World Food Program delegations to the state aim to put the state in the work and plan of the organizations for the current year and implement many development projects.

Awadallah renewed the Commission’s continued efforts and keenness to advance humanitarian work and serve the citizens of the Northern State in all fields.
