More than 300 Thousand Acres are Threatened with Expropriation

The Authority for Mechanized Agriculture gave 785 farmers a period of one month to pay for the renewal of (329,488) acres and said that these acres are subject to expropriation due to non-renewal of lease contracts and violation of the law.

The Director of the Authority, Engineer Abdul Hamid Awad Sallam, handed over to the governor-designate the state a report on the movement of renewals of agricultural holdings, and the activation of the penalty in accordance with the Authority’s law regarding violators of non-annual renewal of contracts in accordance with what the law stipulates.

Abdel Hamid said, in a press statement, that the violators of the law, the period of their violation of non-renewal ranged between (3-15) years, indicating that the mechanized agriculture law stipulates that the fee that is determined from time to time be paid annually to the authority, and he stated that the land is subject to expropriation in the event of The tenant did not commit to renewing the contract for a period exceeding (three) years.

He noted the announcement of the publication of lists of those subject to expropriation in accordance with the Mechanized Agriculture Law.
