Agar Reviews Efforts of Doctors Without Borders in the Blue Nile Region

Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council TSC Malek Agar Eyre, was briefed on the efforts being undertaken by the Belgian Doctors Without Borders organization in the Blue Nile region.
When he met in his office yesterday in Port Sudan with the Belgian delegation of Doctors Without Borders, headed by Michael Hofmann, he appreciated the developing role played by the organization and the efforts made to deliver the important aid and support in light of the current conditions, particularly during the rainy season.
The Vice President of the Sovereignty Council TSC stressed the need to remove all obstacles hindering the progress of work to deliver humanitarian aid to the region and secure the organization’s staff.
For his part, Michael Hoffman affirmed in a press statement after the meeting that the organization’s work would continue to deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of the Blue Nile region.
Hoffman pointed out that the delegation presented several proposals to deliver humanitarian aid during the rainy season via an air bridge from Port Sudan and via Renk from South Sudan, or airdrops to the city of Damazin if it is not possible to reach it by land.
