Fans of the poet Mohamed Al-Hassan Salem Hemeid commemorated yesterday his passing, which occurred on Tuesday morning, 3/20/2012, following a traffic accident on the Northern Artery Highway which connects the capital, Khartoum, to the northern state.
The poet Hemeid was known for his poems in which he used the Sudanese colloquial language, dealing with topics of peace, governance, and simple people.
The poet Hemeid was sung by many singers , most notably the late Mustafa Sayed Ahmed, in addition to (Tambour ) the popular instrument singer Siddiq Ahmed, Mirghani Al-Najjar, Mohamed Jabbara, and Mohamed Al-Nasri.
The poet Mohamed Al-Hassan Salem Hemeid was born in the city of Nuri in the Northern State in 1956.
He received his primary and middle education in the city of Nuri, and his secondary education at Atbara Popular Secondary School. He worked at the Sea Ports Authority from 1978 until 1992, moving between Khartoum and Port Sudan.
Hemeid has several collections of collections, including: Hajar Al-Daghash( Dawn Stone) ,Noura Collection, Al-Jabriya, Sett Al-Dar, Masabah Al-Sama Al-Tamanah and Tashish.
Among his most famous poems are “Noura,” “A Weapon Down ,” “Uncle Abd al-Rahim,” “Our Uncle Hajj and Dajbna,” “Which Homeland ,” “I Have the Right to Sing,” “The Light and t al-Tasab’ hesitate and “ Birds Milk”.
