Al-Ahly and Sun Downs top the list of the best clubs in Africa 2024

The Egyptian Al-Ahly team topped the list of the best African clubs, according to the latest update of the global “footballdatabase” website, which specializes in statistics and global football team rankings, on an equal footing with South Africa’s Sun Downs, which is on par with it on the same number of points.
Al-Ahly has 1,685 points in first place on the list of the best African clubs, which is the same as Sun Downs, “runner-up,” while Moroccan Wydad occupies third place with 1,632 points.
Esperance of Tunisia ranks fourth with 1,583 points, followed by Congolese Mazembe fifth with 1,579 points, while Pyramids is in sixth place with 1,546 points, while Zamalek occupies eleventh place with 1,524 points.
Sun Downs is Al-Ahly’s most prominent competitor on the African scene in recent years, in terms of competition for championships and records, as the South African team has become a major rival, the most recent of which was beating it in the African League Championship and eliminating it from the semi-finals.
Sun Downs also currently tops the list of the most expensive in Africa, with its marketing value reaching 33.15 million euros, according to the latest report issued by the “Transfer Market” global website specializing in player prices.
While Al-Ahly occupies second place in the list of the 10 most expensive clubs in terms of marketing value on the African continent with a value of 32.48 million euros, followed by the Pyramids team in third place with a value of 22.30 million euros, while Zamalek came in fifth place in the list of the most expensive African clubs with 19.55 million euros.
