Khartoum TV and Radio…movements to limit sabotage
Sudan Events – Magda
Extensive movements and efforts are being made by the Director General of the Khartoum Radio and Television Corporation, Dr. Youssuf Al-Nayer, to take stock of what the Khartoum Radio and Television Corporation has lost, as videos showed the extent of the destruction and devastation that befell it during the last period.
Since the liberation of the building, efforts began to be closely followed by (the Events) under the direct supervision of the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, and with the help of engineer Abdel-Azim Khalafallah, who was entrusted with the task of inspecting and examining the equipment to estimate the damage and inventory the broadcasting and transmitting equipment in the radio and television services. Tours within the authority revealed after Its editing monitored a lot of lost items. Some audio and video equipment were stolen, and all external cameras, computers, and screens were stolen. A few things were found, including internal studio cameras.
The engineer responsible for monitoring violations, Abdulazim Khalaf Allah, reassured that most of the basic radio and television equipment was in safekeeping, although the devastation also affected a number of furniture in administrative offices, which were completely destroyed.
He said that what was stolen is valuable and can be replaced with better equipment after the situation stabilizes and the end of the war, in addition to compensating for everything that was destroyed in a systematic and intentional manner.
It is noteworthy that the basic equipment, which belongs to the transmitter and broadcast device in the two services, has been transferred and kept in a safe place, and that the damage caused to it in some devices and offices of the Khartoum channel and radio station will be dealt with after the end of the war.
The Khartoum Radio and Television building overlooking the Nile, despite the scarcity of resources, remained a flame of activity.
Like the state channels, it was broadcast via terrestrial broadcasting. It was transferred during the era of director Abed Sayed Ahmed to Khartoum TV, and its development phase began, and a number of managers succeeded in running it after Abed, and they are Dr.. Nidal Othman, Issam El-Din Gnawi, and finally Al-Nayer.
The Khartoum Television and Radio Corporation continued to suffer from the faltering budgets allocated to the media by the state, and its employees worked tirelessly during the most difficult times, and every step taken in the direction of digital development was particularly celebrated, but the war, occupation, and destruction of the building remained a different crisis added to the crises of the state television.
The Khartoum Radio and Television Corporation has remained the mouthpiece for the people of the capital, Khartoum in particular, and its service has extended to express the entire country, and efforts followed by ( Sudan Events ) are being made to facilitate the launch of the channel’s work in the near future.
