Government: Plan for the reconstruction of Sudan

Acting Sudanese Minister of Commerce Al-Fateh Abdullah revealed the completion of consultations and meetings to develop a plan and work program for the reconstruction and development of Sudan after the war, indicating that the work is currently to set the plan in its final form and develop it as a work program during the next phase following end of the war.
The Minister of Commerce met with the Secretary General of the Arab Exporters Union, Dr. Musaad Mohamadeen, and the CEO of the Arab Exporters Union, Qatar, Sudan, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahim Ali, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Bashar, the Director of the Sudanese Marine Lines, and the Deputy Director of the Customs Authority, on the sidelines of the second Ramadan Iftar of the Exporters Union at Mohamed’s house Abdul Rahim Ali in Sheikh Zayed City, Egypt.
The Minister affirmed the importance of conducting commercial work between Sudan and Egypt in accordance with the interests of the two countries, announcing their intention to operate and revitalize the free zone between Egypt and Sudan as soon as possible and his readiness to remove the obstacles that hinder the implementation of joint projects, as the Exporters Union complained of some obstacles during the previous stage, including saving an amount of $3.5 billion ,as investments were not taken seriously at the time.
For its part, the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers announced, through its Secretary General, Musad Abdel Hamid, that the Union, headed by Amal Zaki, had completed arrangements for holding an international conference in China to finance multiple projects within the framework of the reconstruction and development of Sudan after the war, including the construction of five thousand housing units within three months and the provision of mobile hospitals after approval. Concerned authorities in Sudan and determining the entity responsible for following up on these and other projects, revealing a tendency to take a government delegation to China at the end of this month to review examples of the proposed projects.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Bashar, affirmed the readiness of the Sudanese economic sector to implement the development and reconstruction program in coordination with all parties wishing to participate, indicating that the plan that will be submitted to the Minister of Finance, Chairperson of the Reconstruction Committee, will be ready for implementation in the coming days, declaring that Sudan welcomes all ideas ,and the projects proposed by the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers and which it works to finance through its extended relations abroad.
