The Sudanese and Arab cultural community was saddened by the death of the late, writer Siddiq Al-Helou, whose death occurred in the city of Kosti. With this sad news and in these bitter circumstances, the nation lost one of its intellectuals, whom the newspapers and cultural sections knew. He was also a novelist, storyteller, and intellectual whose spirit of creativity is attested as a knight of the word and pen. He has many publications and writings and is a regular participant in book fairs in Arab countries in particular. Sharjah International Book Fair.
Siddiq Al-Helou was born in the city of Kosti in 1954. He studied Sharia and Law at Imam Mahdi University. In 1985 AD, he published his first collection of short stories (The Seasons), which contained 24 stories. Then, in 2000 AD, he published his collection (The Throat), which included 34 short stories. In 2005, he published the collection (A Woman from the Past), which contained 50 short stories. He later published a number of other short story collections and novels, the most recent of which was (The Queen’s Painter) by Willows House Publishing House.
