Human Rights Watch: The RSF killed civilians and engaged in sexual violence

Human Rights Watch called on the governments participating in the Paris conference to support efforts to investigate ongoing violations in Sudan.
“Governments meeting in Paris must actively and publicly support efforts to investigate ongoing violations on the ground.” Human Rights Watch said in a statement.
America, Britain, the European Union and other countries called for the need to coordinate action under their respective sanctions regimes on Sudan, to identify the entities and individuals responsible for obstructing aid and serious violations.
The statement said that both sides of the conflict committed grave violations.
He pointed out that the Rapid Support Forces carried out widespread killings against civilians, including many for ethnic reasons, especially in West Darfur. They also looted humanitarian supplies, used heavy explosive weapons in densely populated areas, and engaged in acts of sexual violence and widespread looting.
It called on the United Nations Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council to continue scrutinizing the food security situation in Sudan, by holding regular public briefings over the next 6 months.
“As global and regional leaders meet in Paris to shed light on Sudan, they must ensure that those responsible for atrocities will be held accountable.” The human rights organization said.
It called for the fact-finding mission formed by the United Nations Human Rights Council to be given full support and access, with its mandate determined as needed until its investigations are completed.
