Demands to control “Bankak” banking app

Sudan Events – Rehab

Economists called for the necessity of reviewing the work of the “Bankak” application and placing control on its use so that it does not become an opponent to the Sudanese economy.
During their talk to Al-Ahdath, the experts justified their demand for fear that the application would be exploited by the Rapid Support Militia to transfer huge funds outside the country.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Sudan, Dr. Abdel-Azim Al-Mahal, pointed out the importance of monitoring “Bankak” transfers, as he knows that they are being used in a way that is harmful to the Sudanese economy.
In September 2023, the Central Bank of Sudan announced a reduction in transfers on the “Bankak” application to 6 million pounds per day and 100 million per month.
However, economic expert Dr. Muhammad Al-Nayer confirmed that electronic applications for banks have achieved very great success in light of the current war conditions, such as “Bankak, Okash and Fawry.”
He told (Al-Ahdath) that the applications played a role in reducing the burden on the citizen and greatly activating the role of banking work.
