Army: Egypt Has not Detained a Cargo Ship Heading to Sudan

The Sudanese army has denied reports that Egypt had detained a cargo ship heading to Sudan.

The Office of the Official Spokesman for the Armed Forces said in a circular on Wednesday, “Some news sites and media have published misleading information indicating that the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt has detained a cargo ship heading to the Republic of Sudan.”

He added, “The Sudanese Armed Forces clarify that this information is misleading and incorrect, and that the Arab Republic of Egypt has not detained any ship heading to Sudan.”
