During her honoring ceremony in Beirut, Egyptian star Yousra expressed her love for Lebanon and the Lebanese. She confirmed that she would have felt remorse if she had withdrawn from attending due to her fear of the security situation in the region.
During the Beirut International Women’s Film Festival, the star Yousra received an honorary award in recognition of her long artistic career in cinema and television.
“Honestly, I cannot hold back my tears. This honor is greater than I expected. I cried a lot before, and I was given a lot of honors, but today’s honor is different. It contains a tape that summarizes my life and my memories, my failures and my successes.” she said spontaneously.
“I felt a love that I had not felt in a long time. You Lebanese, when you love, you give freely and without limits. I truly love you from my heart and love your strength.” She added.
Yousra revealed that she was intending to return to Egypt on Saturday evening, that is, the night before the evening, due to the tense security situation in Lebanon and the Arab region. “I would have been very sad and regretful if I had not come today. When a security incident happened yesterday, I feared for you, and at the same time I have never in my life lived a similar moment when I saw how you deal with these matters. I was frankly ashamed of myself and wondered, how the Lebanese have been living in this situation for 49 years.” She continued.
“You are a generous people. Nothing can stand in your way. If you join hands, you will triumph over all injustice.” Yousra said to the Lebanese people.
