Khartoum Sends 90 Specialists to Remove Explosive Objects

Khartoum State has recruited (90) trainees specialized in removing war remnants and foreign objects from the old Omdurman area, following their graduation in a ceremony attended by the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza.
The training course is; the first in the field of awareness of the dangers of mines and war remnants, and was organized by the Supreme Committee for Alertness and Popular Resistance Organization in cooperation with the National Center for Demining.
The governor of Khartoum said, “We started by cleaning Omdurman from the remnants of war, which included corpses and foreign and explosive objects, and then restored water and electricity, and now all local agencies and the police support the graduates of the course.”
The governor directed all members of the first batch, numbering 90 trainees, to immediately engage in the operations to remove war remnants. He explained that this was the beginning of volunteer work, and directed the mobilization committees and popular resistance organization in the localities to support the volunteer teams.
For his part, the representative of the National Center for Demining, Jamal Al-Bushra, said, “The center’s mission revolves around reducing the danger of non-explosive objects. We now have 11 awareness teams working before cleaning, and the higher the awareness, the lower the risk of damage.
