Kabashi to Putin’s Envoy: Attempts of those Lurking in Sudan Are Doomed to Failure

Member of the Sovereign Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Shams Al-Din Kabbashi, and the Russian Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, have discussed bilateral relations between Sudan and Russia and ways to enhance cooperation politically, economically, militarily and culturally, in the presence of the Acting Foreign Minister, Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali.
Kabbashi praised Russia’s positions in support of Sudanese legitimacy, stressing that all attempts by those lurking in Sudan’s interests, sovereignty and stability are doomed to failure.
Kabbashi stressed Sudan’s openness to all anti-bloodshed initiatives, but within the framework of Sudanese legitimacy and vision that guarantees and preserves the full rights of the Sudanese people.
The Acting Foreign Minister explained in a press statement that the Russian envoy denounced during the meeting the claims based on equality between the legitimacy of the Sudanese state and the rebellion.
He said that the meeting secured Russia’s support for Sudan in confronting everything that might threaten its sovereignty and the interests of its people.
