Russia: The Government in Port Sudan is Legitimate Representative of The Sudanese People

Vice President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, has stressed the need to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination between Sudan and Russia in international forums, especially the United Nations and the UN Security Council.
During his meeting in his office in Port Sudan, on Monday, Agar provided the Russian Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, with full enlightenment on the situation in Sudan, developments on the ground, and the current crisis and its impact on the regional and international environment.
Regarding the proposed initiatives, Aqar stressed that Russia’s role and movements in Africa and the Middle East and its broad relations with countries and leaders enable it to consult with all parties about the existing initiatives, starting from Jeddah through IGAD, and clarify their lack of success in resolving the current crisis.
For his part, the Russian Special Envoy to the Middle East and Africa stressed in a press statement the strength of the bilateral relations between the two countries and their deep-rooted history and joint cooperation in various fields, believing in the necessity of promoting and developing these relations and pushing them to broader horizons.
Bogdanov stressed that Russia is dealing with the Transitional Sovereign Council and the government in Port Sudan as the legitimate representative of the Sudanese people in international dealings.
He pointed out that the Russian embassy carries out its work normally through its ambassador from Port Sudan, and in return, the Sudanese ambassador in Moscow carries out his work.
Bogdanov stressed the importance of this meeting to enhance consultation and joint cooperation between the two countries and develop aspects of joint cooperation, especially since the Vice President of the Sovereign Council participated in two summits in Russia representing Sudan and met with Russian leaders to advance bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, Acting Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, explained in a press statement that the meeting discussed the importance of consulting with the sister countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in particular and the Arab countries to find a way out and solutions that preserve the dignity of the Sudanese people and contribute to stability and peace in Sudan.
