Washington and Riyadh Efforts to Resume Jeddah negotiations

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has discussed, with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, efforts to resume negotiations within the framework of the Jeddah Platform, which aims to end the conflict in Sudan and prevent further widespread harm among civilians.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the two ministers discussed during the meeting “ongoing efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza,” which “would ensure the release of hostages held by Hamas.”
