Singer Nancy Agag announced her participation in the activities of the Sudan Festival in the Heart of the UAE and wrote on her Facebook page: We are happy to meet you within the activities of the Sudan Festival in the Heart of the Emirates, Sunday, May 5th of this year, at the Dubai World Trade Center. Her announcement caused widespread controversy among her fans, as some demanded a boycott of the festival because of the rumors about the UAE’s support for Sudan’s war and the displacement of its people.
It is worth noting that the festival is organized by the UAE to celebrate the spirit of tolerance with the Sudanese people, in which the culture and heritage of Sudan is showcased, including its diversity and long history in customs and traditions. The festival includes a number of performances and activities in addition to singing and show segments. It is worth noting that the announcement of the festival aroused the ire of the Sudanese who even called for boycotting it.
