Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Sudanese director and filmmaker Ibrahim Omar celebrated the fact that his short fiction project, “And Then Nothing Happens,” received a special mention from the jury at the 70th Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, during which the film was screened. Ibrahim explained that the journey of making any film requires tremendous effort, great patience and a deep understanding of what you are seeking to achieve.
“The aspects of this industry are so numerous and complex that it is difficult to enumerate them, especially in light of the great challenges it faces.” He said.

Faith in work

Ibrahim believes that faith in work is what overcomes all difficulties. “All these requirements become worthless when you find someone who believes in what you are doing. Faith alone is sufficient to defeat all obstacles that stand in your way. Only faith is capable of turning everything into reality.” He added. “The steps towards producing any work of art carry within them memories that will continue to shape our knowledge about art and our attitudes towards people and the world around us. Those who contribute in some way to our journey and help achieve what we imagine to appear optimally are those with the real truth who deserve great praise and acknowledgment.” He added.
“After that, nothing will happen in which the actors endure the hardships of moving from their workplaces on the outskirts of Cairo for long months while we were working on the film in its various stages.” Ibrahim said.
He pointed out that the film’s success lies in its emergence from imagination to the screen.
