Economic Partnerships to Implement Environmental Sanitation in Shendi

The Executive Director of Shendi Locality, Khaled Abdul Ghaffar Al-Sheikh, has announced arrangements to conclude partnerships with banks, merchants, companies and institutions to implement an integrated environmental sanitation program in Shendi Locality, to be the first at the state level in the first phase and at the Sudan level in the second phase.
During his address to the environmental sanitation campaign that was launched (Tuesday) in the Shendi Fawq neighborhood, he revealed that the Shendi locality had provided small tankers for transporting waste suitable for work in residential neighborhoods in villages and city neighborhoods.
He stressed the importance of civil support, which is no less important than military support, especially in the field of environmental sanitation and other services that represent great importance in securing the citizen in the health and social aspects.
He praised the community’s great participation in the environmental sanitation campaign.
For his part, the director of the city’s administrative unit, Nasr Al-Din Ali Ishaq, said that cleanliness must become a common behavior among people, and that the campaigns implemented by the local municipality are a starting point for the citizen himself to be an essential partner in environmental sanitation operations.
He pointed out that the students’ participation in this campaign is the beginning of children’s awareness before adults of the importance of environmental sanitation.
Nasr Al-Din called on the media to intensify its awareness programs in this regard to consolidate these concepts so that cleanliness becomes a culture that no longer needs campaigns, awareness, laws, or regulations.
For his part, the head of the Popular Resistance, Shendi, along with Major General Moatasem Al-Jamri, welcomed the community participation that included all groups, and continued, “This is a good indicator and represents a positive sign in the growing popular awareness of the importance of environmental sanitation operations.”
