Al-Sisi: International Circles Abort Jeddah Negotiations
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The head of the National Movement Forces, Dr. Al-Tijani Al-Sisi, has conditioned the solution of the current Sudanese crisis on addressing the issues of the societal axis, at a time when he accused international circles – which he did not disclose – of sabotaging the Jeddah negotiations, and stressed the importance of continuing the humanitarian axis in the Jeddah platform.
During his address to the opening session of the consultative forum to establish the national project, he warned of the return of war again if the issues of the societal axis are not addressed.
He stressed the need to achieve consensus on the issues of determining the form of government, the identity of Sudan, management of diversity, and the permanent constitution, and said that the crisis will remain in the event of a lack of consensus on it during the transitional period.
He called on political parties and forces to unite around a project and a comprehensive umbrella to manage the transitional period in Sudan.
Al-Sisi launched a violent attack on the international community’s response to the humanitarian tragedy in Sudan, describing it as shameful. He added that a European country – which he did not name – was building an asphalt road linking the Chadian city of Adre to El Geneina, while the region has hundreds of thousands of starving refugees.
He described the failure of the international community to pump humanitarian aid under the pretext of unstable security conditions as a false excuse (because citizens were displaced to safe areas inside Sudan), and saw that justification was being used as a weapon, and declared the National Movement forces’ rejection of that approach.
