Procedures for Pursuing and Blocking Accounts of Currency Traders
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Information has revealed a package of deterrent decisions and strict measures aimed at prosecuting and banning the accounts of currency traders, companies and individuals who deal with them, owners of suspicious accounts linked to the rebellion, companies evading paying taxes and supplying export proceeds, and new import controls.
The information indicated that the decisions came by order of the Central Bank of Sudan and in coordination with the police, the prosecution, and the Economic Security Department of the General Intelligence Service, in an effort to limit the decline in the value of the pound and revive the economy.
The measures include a ban on luxury goods and new conditions for importing oil, in addition to parallel decisions aimed at encouraging exports, stimulating investment, and supporting the national industry.
