Militia Arrests (17) Volunteers in Bahri

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

On Sunday, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) arrested 17 volunteers in the “Shambat” suburb of Khartoum Bahri after accusing them of spying with the army.
The RSF intensified their campaigns targeting volunteers active in providing services to citizens, as during the past weeks they arrested large numbers of them in various neighborhoods of the capital, and some of them died under torture.
A statement issued by the Shambat Emergency Room said, “In continuation of the RSF militia’s brutal pattern of violations against the citizen, it arrested 17 volunteers from Hospice Square 15 in Shambat al-Aradi on charges of spying with the army.”
The statement explained that the volunteers who were arrested had no connection to the army, but rather were working to serve their region and mitigate the effects of the war. The statement held the RSF responsible for the safety of the detainees and urged the need for their immediate release.
